Michelle Cameron is a born and raised Calgarian and grew up in a family of 10 children. She learned about team work, being resourceful and always finding a way very early on. She over came being a very sickly child and her extreme fear of the water to realized her dream and competed in the 1988 Seoul Olympics winning an Olympic Gold Medal in Synchronized Swimming.

My Mom has always been the person who inspires me the most – She has been a true example of being resourceful – and that there is always a way, even through challenging times. Together with my Dad, they have an unwavering faith, have encouraged, supported and continue to inspire me everyday.”

Michelle is a six time World Champion and swam on the Canadian team for over ten years. She became the first ever Albertan to win a Summer Olympic Gold Medal, and was inducted into Alberta and Canadian Halls of Fame and International Aquatic Sports Hall of Fame.

Michelle was also awarded the Prestige’s Order of Canada.

Michelle also maximized her Olympic experience by working as Assistant Chief du Mission for the World Aquatic Games in Perth Australia in 1991 as well as Athlete Services Officer in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic in which she was in charge of Headquarters for our Canadian Athletes.

She has been on the board of directors for many companies and organizations including; Rogers Broadcasting National-also chaired the Calgary Division 12 yrs, Canadian Coaching Association, Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, Special Olympics, Parks Foundation, and Canadian Olympian Alumni.

Michelle is very active in her community and has supported numerous non-profit and charitable organizations over the years, even starting a foundation initiated by her children called “A Gift of Love”-based on their belief that “if we just share what we have, there should be no one without.” She has dedicated thousands of hours and helped raise awareness and millions of dollars for both charities and businesses including just under $50 million this past year as Michelle was the Co-Chair of the 2008 United Way Campaign.

Michelle has a very keen Entrepreneurial Spirit. Her company “Gold Medal Inspirations”– mission is to Inspire All to Embrace their Full potential. She speaks openly and honestly about over coming challenges, digging deep and sharing tangible success tools. She has been sharing her message and inspiring companies and organizations to step into their Greatness locally and around the world for over 20 years.

Michelle is also Co-founder and Principal of “GEMS” – Creating a bigger definition of success for Women in Business. www.gemstosucess.com. And most recently she was asked to be a Founding Council Member of the WSA – a global association of women speakers.

Michelle has been married over 20 years to fellow Olympian and Volleyball player Al Coulter and is most proud of being the mother of four very active wonderful children.
